FCX Alum Dana Nelsen and Lynchburg College Win NCAA Division III National Title!

FCX Alum Dana Nelsen and Lynchburg College won the NCAA Division III National Title last weekend by defeating Williams College in penalty kicks!

Dana was born and raised in Barrington and played club soccer for FC Barrington and FCX from the first time she touched a soccer ball and she continued to play with the FCX U23 Summer Program when she was home from college to stay sharp and fit throughout the summer. When asked about her favorite FCB/FCX moment she commented, "Winning Nationals in North Carolina was a great experience for the team and me and one I will never forget." She was asked what advice she would give to current FCX players that would like to play soccer in college and replied, "Choose a college for the academics and one that you will be happy attending. Do not get caught up in Division I, II, III as there are a lot of fantastic Division III schools out there!"

Lynchburg College finished the season 27-0-1. "The expectations have always been there and we knew we had a team that could do great things and I'm extremely proud of the this accomplishment!"

Dana is a senior and will graduate in the spring with a degree in Physical Therapy. She is going to attend Grad School when she is done with college at Lynchburg!
